Some of the most challenging orthodontic cases involve discrepancies of the planes of space. Extreme vertical, transverse, and anterior-posterior (sagittal) anomalies often cannot be treated with traditional orthodontic techniques to ideal without surgical intervention. The tomas® TAD system and tomas® eyelets allow orthodontists to address these discrepancies without oral surgery using innovative appliances and techniques.
The tomas® system increases the armamentarium of a TAD orthodontist by adding purpose-driven appliances that easily integrate with TADs and traditional mechanics to treat once extremely complicated cases. The lecture will include techniques for addressing Anterior and Posterior Crossbites, closing Open Bites, and correcting severe Class II and Class III discrepancies with TADs.
Palatal expansion with MARPE with the tomas® system including tooth-borne and bone-borne therapies will be demonstrated. Cases and techniques for mesialization, distalization and Class II correction with the Advanced Molar Distalizing Appliance (AMDA) and TADs will be shown. The correction of Anterior Open Bites with posterior intrusion with TADs will also be presented.
