100th Congress of the European Orthodontic Society in Krakow
– Dentaurum supports connection and commitment within the international orthodontic community
Released: 04.07.2025
The annual EOS (European Orthodontic Society) congress has brought together orthodontists from Europe and beyond for more than a century. On the occasion of the 100th Congress, many visitors and exhibitors, including Dentaurum, came to Krakow in Poland. Alongside an impressive exhibition presence, the company showed commitment to the furtherance of young talents: as part of the EPSOS Conference (European Postgraduate Student Orthodontic Society), the Dentaurum Knowledge Award, sponsored by Dentaurum, was awarded.
EOS – a forum for international orthodontics
The European Orthodontic Society was founded in 1907. Since then, the Society has held an annual congress at changing European locations and brings specialists from around the world together for networking, interdisciplinary discussion and scientific education. EOS is committed to facilitating the exchange of expertise and the development of orthodontic treatment standards in Europe.
EPSOS Conference, a knowledge platform
EPSOS is the largest orthodontic society for prospective orthodontists in Europe. Since 2004, the EPSOS Annual Meeting has taken place as part of the EOS Congress – it is a unique platform for scientific discussion, for networking and for preparing for daily professional life. The focus of this year's meeting was on tooth trauma. Professor Ewa Czochrowska, a renowned expert of autotransplantation, was the main speaker.
Supporting research, strengthening talents – greetings from Ispringen
Dentaurum CEO Mark S. Pace welcomed this year's participants in a video message:
"We really admire what your Postgrad Student Society has achieved and are happy to offer you our support. We are delighted to be sponsoring the Annual Meeting again and to be supporting EPSOS as a Platinum Sponsor! The future is important to us, so promoting students and the creation of innovations are of great significance.
As a leading company in the dental branch, we help to improve the skills of dental professionals by passing on our knowledge in the many courses we offer. Dentaurum was founded in 1886 and is the oldest family-owned dental company worldwide to have existed continuously. This is both an obligation and an incentive for us.
EPSOS is part of an international network which promotes the exchange of modern orthodontic methods. We want to encourage those conversations in which we openly exchange ideas and learn from one another. Welcome to the Dentaurum family – here's wishing you fun and success at the EPSOS 2025!"
Dentaurum awards a prize for the development of young talents
Dentaurum's sponsorship includes the award of the Dentaurum X EPSOS Clinical Pearl Award (Dentaurum Case Presentation Award), which acknowledges special research. It was awarded for the second time in 2025. The EPSOS committee selected the TAD (Temporary Anchorage Device) supported case study from Bronagh McGuckin from St. George's University Hospital (UK) as the winning piece of work. The winner was pleased to receive a voucher to visit an international seminar on the orthodontic mini implant tomas® from Dentaurum to further her knowledge on skeletal anchorage.
The program also included an interesting video talk on "Placing a temporarily anchored transpalatal arch" with Naeem Adam, consultant at Leeds Dental Institute in the UK. Participants also took the opportunity to find out more about some Dentaurum highlight products such as tomas®, prime4me® RETAIN3R, Orthocryl® and several bracket systems. They also had the chance to try out the tomas®-screwdriver to insert a mini implant and a tomas®-pin into a plastic bone.
