Leipzig for newbies

Leipzig is a place where tradition rubs shoulders with “zeitgeist” and where great art can be enjoyed just a few steps away from an exciting world of outdoor activities.

With a history going back almost 1,000 years, this Saxon metropolis has earned more than a few claims to fame – as a city of music, of commerce, of heroes, as the site of the Peaceful Revolution, as Little Paris, Athens on the River Pleisse, and the Venice of the North.

Save yourself the time and effort of having to find out where Leipzig‘s treasures are hidden by joining our social program.

Our promise: You will be hungry for even more of Leipzig.

Dragon Boat Trip

SOCIAL PROGRAM I JULY 7, 2023

On Leipzig’s waterways, you can get to know the city from an entirely different side, exploring it by dragon boat. A dragon boat – nowhere else can one experience the meaning of the phrase “all in the same boat” so closely. Only when the entire team is paddling (supported by the drummer) in the same cycle can the participants experience the feeling that the community is even stronger than when everyone is fighting on their own. A bus will bring you to the starting point – the picturesque city harbour of Leipzig. The tour will take you through the idyllic Auwald forest and the beautiful Karl Heine canal with its impressive villas and residential buildings.

Meeting point: 13:45 hrs in the lobby of Hyperion Hotel Leipzig
Arrival: 16:00 hrs (approx.) at Hyperion Hotel Leipzig

The tour will be accompanied by Dentaurum Implants.

If the minimum number of 20 persons is not reached, the tour will be cancelled and those booked for the tour will be informed beforehand.

€ 33.00 (per person)

Sightseeing Tour by bus

SOCIAL PROGRAM I JULY 7, 2023

A guided tour by bus is ideal for those seeking an overall impression of the city. The tour takes you to the Leipzig Trade Fair Centre, the German Library, the exquisite Gohlis Palace, Schiller‘s House and around the Waldstrassenviertel, a 19th century residential area where nearly all the houses are listed buildings. This suburb is flanked by one of the largest city parks, the Rosental. We shall also visit the former Supreme Court, the Monument to the Battle of Nations and the Russian Church. The tour is enhanced by fascinating and entertaining anecdotes from Leipzig‘s past and present.

€ 22,00 (per person)

Segway tour

SOCIAL PROGRAM I JULY 7, 2023

Discover Leipzig with a Segway. It's a perfect mix of sightseeing and driving fun!

After an intensive driving training on an indoor course we start with the Segways in a westerly direction and cross the Waldstrasse district, one of the largest contiguously preserved Wilhelminian style districts. Then we go through the sports forum and along the arena and the stadium. This is followed by a visit to the green side of the city – we first drive along the Elster basin and then through the palm garden. The tour then leads via the former industrial district of Plagwitz, where you can see the changes the city of Leipzig has been affected by over time particularly well. The way back takes us along the picturesque Karl-Heine-Canal, across Clara-Zetkin-Park and through the music district, before we head back towards the city center past the Federal Administrative Court.

Meeting point: 13:45 hrs in the lobby of Hyperion Hotel Leipzig
Arrival: 17:00 hrs (approx.) at Hyperion Hotel Leipzig
Weight limits: At least 45 kg, maximum 115 kg

The tour will be accompanied by Dentaurum Implants.

If the minimum number of 10 persons is not reached, the tour will be cancelled and those booked for the tour will be informed beforehand.

€ 75,00 (per person)
