prime4me® Aligner Konzept.

The entire course of treatment consists of transparent aligners which gently move the teeth in the direction required. There are soft aligners (0.6 mm thick) and hard aligners (0.8 mm thick), each worn alternately for one week (7 days).

Begin with step 1. You start with the soft aligners, then move on to the hard aligners. The aligners are individually packed and marked accordingly. Step 1 is followed by the aligners from step 2 and so on.

Using and storing.

Wear the aligners for at least 22 hours a day.
Store the aligners in the aligner box included in the delivery (for example, when you are eating or cleaning your teeth). Keep the aligners away from sources of heat as this may have a negative impact on their shape. This, in turn, means the aligners cannot move the teeth correctly.
Keep to all of the instructions and remember to attend all appointments with your dentist.
It may be necessary for attachments to be placed on your teeth during treatment. These support the teeth as they are moved spatially. If you lose an attachment during treatment, please contact your dentist immediately.
Please ensure good oral hygiene throughout the treatment and clean your teeth and interdental spaces thoroughly after each meal before using the prime4me® aligners.
To be on the safe side, keep the aligners from the week before, preferably in their original packaging (backup aligners). You can use the backup aligners if you lose one for the current week or if it gets damaged. This will stop your teeth from moving back to their former position. Inform your dentist immediately so that replacement aligners can be made.

Inserting and removing.

Inserting prime4me® Aligner.

Position the aligner on the back teeth first.

Then press the front part of the aligner onto your teeth.

Removing the prime4me® Aligner.

First, remove the aligner from the back teeth.

Then remove the front part of the aligner.

Cleaning and maintaining.

  • Clean the aligners each time before insertion.
  • Recommendation: Clean the aligners on the inside and the outside with a soft tooth brush using toothpaste with a low proportion of abrasive particles (low RDA, relative dentin abrasion) value. Then rinse the aligners under cold running water.
  • Caution: Warm water may cause the aligners to deform. Aggressive soaps or tooth pastes with a high proportion of abrasive particles (high RDA value) may damage the surface of the aligners.
  • Clean your teeth and the spaces in-between thoroughly after every meal and before you put the prime4me® Aligner back into place.
  • Once daily and whenever the aligners are hard to get clean, you can use a special cleaning powder (e.g. CETRON®) or ask your local pharmacy what they recommend.

Eating and drinking.

  • Remove the aligners before you eat and store them in the aligner box. When you are not wearing the aligners, you can eat whatever you want.

  • When you are wearing the prime4me® Aligner...
    • don't chew chewing gum   it'll stick to the aligners
    • don't drink any warm drinks like tea or coffee
        these will deform the aligners
    • don't eat or drink anything containing sugar or acid   this may cause caries
    • don't smoke   this may discolor the aligners and cause periodontal damage.
  • Clean your teeth and the spaces in-between thoroughly after every meal and before you put the prime4me® Aligner back into place.

FAQ.

Can I order the aligners directly from Dentaurum?

No. Dentaurum sells products only to dental professionals. Contact your dentist if you are interested in having aligner treatment. Your dentist can check if prime4me® Aligner are suitable for you and will then supervise your treatment.

The aligners don't fit properly and are hurting.
What should I do?

It is normal for you to notice a slight feeling of pressure at the beginning of the treatment and whenever you first use a new aligner. This should subside after a few days. It's a sign that the teeth are moving in the right direction. If, however, an aligner doesn't fit at all and the pain doesn't go, please arrange to see your dentist immediately.

Can the aligners be cleaned with warm or hot water?

No. Please only clean and rinse the aligners with cold water. Warmth may cause the aligners to deform and then no longer fit properly.

Will the aligners affect how I speak?

No. As with any form of orthodontic treatment, you will have to get used to the feeling of wearing the aligners. Any problems you may have with speaking will soon disappear after a short while.

Can I really eat and drink whatever I want?

As long as you are not wearing the aligners, there are no restrictions. Clean your teeth and the spaces in-between thoroughly after every meal and before you put the prime4me® Aligner back into place. You should not eat anything whilst you are wearing the aligners. Please drink cold water only. Eating or drinking anything containing sugar or acid whilst wearing the aligners may cause caries, gum disease or discoloration of the teeth and the aligners.

What should I do if I lose an aligner or one gets damaged?

To be on the safe side, keep the aligners from the week before, preferably in their original packaging (backup aligners). You can use the backup aligners if you lose one for the current week or if it gets damaged. This will stop your teeth from moving back to their initial position. Inform your dentist immediately so that replacement aligners can be made.
