•    Praxisbeispiele
•    Live-FAQ Runde am Ende des Webinars

TADs and metal printed appliances in the management of maxillary deficiency

Abstract:
Digital appliance design and 3D metal printing have expanded the scope of orthodontic appliances. Complicated appliances can be fabricated precisely without the human errors inherent in traditional manual wire bending.
Furthermore, skeletal anchorage is considered a game-changer for maxillary growth modification in both transverse and anteroposterior dimensions, even in older patients.
This webinar will explore the efficient combination of skeletal anchorage and metal printed appliances in the management of patients with maxillary deficiency. It will also discuss the potential for maxillary expansion in more mature patients.

Learning Objectives:
At the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:
1. Understand palatal TADs from A to Z (anatomical considerations, biomechanical concepts, choosing the right TAD, insertion, and
coupling with devices, bone 1st, and appliance 1st, different workflows).
2. Evaluate how 3D printing can expand the design possibilities and enable multitasking with the same appliance to achieve several
treatment objectives.
3. Understand the role of Hybrid Hyrax in maxillary growth modification in children with CIII maxillary deficiency.
4. Evaluate rationale and different protocols for maxillary expansion.

Expansion screws and removable orthodontic appliances

Abstract:

Orthodontic expansion remains a cornerstone in the management of transverse discrepancies, functional malocclusions, and space deficiency. This webinar provides a comprehensive overview of expansion screws and removable orthodontic appliances, bridging fundamental principles with contemporary clinical applications.

The session will begin by revisiting the biomechanics and indications of expansion screws within removable appliances, emphasizing force systems, activation protocols, and patient compliance. A detailed discussion will follow on functional appliances, particularly the Twin Block, highlighting its role in sagittal correction and growth modulation.

Participants will explore maxillary splints used in conjunction with headgear, with a focus on anchorage control and orthopedic effects. The lecture will also cover various removable expansion appliances, including maxillary expanders and anterior/posterior bite planes, outlining their indications, design considerations, and limitations.

Transitioning to fixed approaches, the webinar will compare removable expanders with fixed maxillary expansion devices, discussing clinical decision-making, efficiency, and stability. Finally, the session will introduce the digital workflow for maxillary expanders, demonstrating how CAD/CAM technologies enhance precision, customization, and laboratory communication. Real clinical scenarios will be used to illustrate the transition from conventional to digital orthodontics.

This webinar aims to equip clinicians with a structured approach to selecting and designing expansion appliances, while embracing the evolving digital landscape in orthodontics.
