Association of the German Dental Industry (VDDI) elects new Chairman
Mark Stephen Pace is looking forward to the new challenge
Mark Stephen Pace, Chief Executive Officer of the Dentaurum Group in Ispringen, Germany is new highest representative of the Association of the German Dental Industry (VDDI).
He was elected as new Chairman by the General Assembly of the VDDI on 27 June 2017 in Cologne, Germany. Pace has been a member of the Advisory Board since 2005 and was Vice-Chairman of the Board from 2013 on. He is successor to Dr. Martin Rickert who has relinquished the post of Chairman after 14 years.
VDDI celebrated its 100th anniversary last year. The Association represents the interests of an industry that is both steeped in tradition, yet with a promising future. The German dental industry has a global presence and is committed to protecting dental health. More than 20,000 people are employed in over 200 VDDI member companies. The branch achieves a turnover in excess of 5 billion euro.
Mark Stephen Pace is looking forward to the new challenge in his role as Chairman. He sees his task primarily in securing the continuity of the Association's successful work so far: "One of VDDI's outstanding characteristics is that its members and committees demonstrate both a willingness and the ability to reach a consensus", Pace says. The VDDI Board is responsible not only for traditional SME's, including many family businesses, but also for large organizations. "This composition is a good mix of member companies, each with their own field of competence and their own view on matters. This helps us to pool our common goals for the Association and for the industry so we speak with one voice. It also enables us to fulfil the tasks lying before us", Pace emphasized.
Mark Stephen Pace is taking on his new honorary position with confidence and has many ideas. He is already looking forward to the 38th IDS, the world's largest international dental show, organized by GFDI (Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Dental-Industrie mbH, a commercial enterprise of VDDI) which will take place in 2019 in Cologne.
