A unique journey through 125 years of company history
Guest from around the world enthralled by gala programme
On May 28, 2011, the owner-managers of the Dentaurum Group, Mark S. Pace, Axel Winkelstroeter and Petra Pace celebrated the 125th anniversary of the world’s oldest independent dental company together with around 1,000 guests that included family members, employees, business associates and friends from all over the world.
With his moving opening speech, Mark S. Pace already gave them to understand that this was to be a very special celebration. The first surprise was provided right at the beginning by Dentaurum Group employees, who had founded the choir the Dentaurum Singers especially for the occasion. With their jubilee renderings of “Celebration” and “Yes we can Dentaurum” they brought the house down. In allusion to the company founder Arnold Biber, the outdoor staff presented the management with a 1.6-meter high carved wood sculpture from the famous Biber brother’s atelier. The founder’s great-nephew Peter Biber had travelled from Switzerland especially for the occasion and was visibly impressed at how his ancestors’ former laboratory had become a globally successful dental company.
With a “Dinner Show for all senses” the audience was taken on an enchanting-poetic journey through 125 years of company history. Personalities and milestones from the Dentaurum Group’s history were expressively depicted in a number of fascinating word and music compositions. The performance by the tenor Jay Alexander, accompanied by a delightful dancer in a giant snowball, was not the only source of goosebumps. Further highlights were a fan dance to the strains of a violin, an amazing show of acrobatics in a water semisphere, a mystical theatre performance and a thrilling breakdance routine. Comedy waiters contributed a number of surprises and entertaining moments while culinary delicacies were being served.
The guests were enthralled by the fascinating company history, diversified stage show programme, excellent menu and festive atmosphere.
At the end of the journey from 1886 to 2011, covering 125 years of turbulent dental history, there were standing ovations for the host families. One could really feel how people are in the foreground of this family-owned company, whose guidelines are not only based on the principles of ethics, equality, tolerance and respect in everyday interaction, but also adhered to.
The evening was by no means over after the dinner show. Guests were able to chat with each other to the sounds of relaxing piano music, or dance to hot rhythms and delicious cocktails well into the early hours of the morning. An unforgettable evening that was as unique as the history of the Dentaurum Group itself. Many of the guests are already looking forward to coming back again for the 150-year anniversary celebration.
