Removing the tomas®-pin
First remove the connectors to the orthodontic appliance. The tomas®-pin can be removed with the same instruments that were used for insertion. Place the tomas®-applicator on the head of the screw and turn it carefully counter clockwise to loosen and remove the tomas®-pin.
The wound does not require any special treatment. It is not absolutely essential to administer a local or topical anesthetic for removing the tomas®-pin.
