Insertion

Insertion

According to the select type of pin and preparation of the bone, the pin is initially screwed in and then finally inserted manually or mechanically.

Initial Insertion

Take the tomas® pin out from the packaging. Guide the tomas®-pin into the pilot hole with the insertion adapter and screw it in, or if there is no pilot hole, screw it in firmly until the thread catches in the bone.

Final insertion (manually)

Use the tomas®-applicator to insert the tomas®-pin into its final position into the bone. The tomas®-wheel or tomas®-torque ratchet (set the torque to 20 Ncm) can be used to aid manual insertion. The tomas® screwdriver or the tomas® torque ratchet should be used for support in manual insertion without pre-drilling.

Final insertion (mechanically)

Use the tomas®-driver and a torque control handpiece (torque 20 Ncm and 25 rpm) to insert the tomas®-pin to its final position into the bone.
